Funeral Services for Sylvia Lee Young Harris will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 5, 2020 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home – Monroe.  Brother William Sikes will officiate.  Interment will follow at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery in Swartz, LA.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the funeral home before service.

Sylvia was born on May 24, 1922 in Louisville, Kentucky and passed away on December 2, 2020 in Monroe, LA.  She was a proud Kentucky native, where she resided until her marriage on March 7, 1946 to Jewell Lucian Harris.  They were married 57½ years until his death on August 22, 2003.  Sylvia was a homemaker and stay-at-home Mom to their two daughters.  Her greatest joy and accomplishment were those moments she spent with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Sylvia was preceded in death by her first grandchild, Cole Thompson.

Sylvia is survived by two daughters, Patricia Thompson and husband Charles, Nancy Dewitt and husband Bud; grandchildren, Crystal Tate (Richard), Michael Williams (Misty), Alden Dewitt (Abbie); and 8 Great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; brother-in-law, James Hart (Rachel); sisters, Betty Egan, Amy Petry; many other cherished family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bud Dewitt, Alden Dewitt, Garrett Paris, Heath Paris and Richard Tate.
