Susan Leslie Hudson Johnson, 54, of Monroe, LA, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, in Austin Texas. She was born on July 26, 1959 in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Vernon Johnson, and her grandparents, Wesley and Ruby Bunch, and Elbert and Viola Hudson. She is survived by her three children, Matthew Johnson of Austin, TX, Sarah Catherine Johnson of Monroe, and Lesley-Anne Johnson (Courtney Fieber) and grandson Jasper Hudson Johnson of Austin. She is also survived by her parents, James Douglas and Marilyn Delora Bunch Hudson of Monroe, two sisters, Delora (Bruce) Walker of Monroe, and Amanda (Randy) Rentz of Columbia, LA, as well as seven nieces and nephews, and three great nieces and nephews.Susan graduated from River Oaks High School in 1977 and attended LA Tech and ULM. She later opened Alexander's Christmas and Fine Gifts which she ran for a number of years. She served on the River Oaks School Board of Directors from 1995-1999 and was actively involved in her children's activities. Susan will be remembered by all for her generous heart, infectious laugh, and smile that lit up a room. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Sunday, December 29th beginning at 1:30PM at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in West Monroe with the Rev. Lynn Malone and J Roddy Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until service time. A private burial will follow the service at the cemetery at Bartholomew United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Wesley Rentz, Will Rentz, Clark Brinker, Ronnie Alexander, Ricky Andrews, and Patrick Busby. Memorials may be made to the Ouachita Parish Humane Society

Susan kindly befriended me in eighth grade when I was new to Lee Hr. High. I'm so very sorry to hear of her passing and am praying for the Hudson and Johnson families.

Susan, what a wonder friend you have been to me for several years. Your laugh was so sweet as well as your spirit. May you walk the streets of gold hand in hand with John Vernon.
