Born to perform, Sunni was very much at home on the stage. She felt like that’s where she belonged. She loved cheerleading, tumbling, dancing, working out, doing Re-Fit and mowing yards. Sunni began dancing at the age of 2 in her mother’s dance studio. At age 6 she choreographed and performed her own routine at Six Flags Over Texas. She performed and taught for Judy’s Dance Studio in Rayville. Sunni coached and/or cheered for George Welch, Claiborne Christian School, Pecanland Christian, ULM, Bayou Beast, First West Gymnastics, Susan’s ACT, and Powerhouse Tumble and Cheer.
Sunni was always ready to share her love of Jesus, tumbling, dance and cheer with everyone. She was as bright and animated as her name. She had the heart of a servant willing to help anyone she could.
Sunni was born March 20, 1982 in Monroe and passed away May 9, 2021 in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her father James Scott Howell; sister Dondi K. Walker Copeland; grandparents Bill and Alice Collins and Lolita Howell; her best friend Jason Staples.
