Memorial services for Steven Eyre Sr. will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2023 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. William Edwards officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Steve was retired as a Design Engineer and was a member of Western Star Masonic Lodge where he served as Master Mason. He enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Olivet Eyre; grandson Trenton Eyre.
Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years Norma Eyre; 2 sons, Steve Eyre, Jr. and Jason Johnson; 2 daughters, Cissy Johnson and Davlyn Jones and husband Chris; 7 grandchildren, Josh, Elaine, Tyler, Brittany, Katie, Colton and Kierstin and a host of nieces and nephews and close friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Masonic Brothers.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Norma and family David and I are sorry to hear of Steven's passing. I am glad that I was able to speak to Him this summer We are happy to remember the time we joined you for a Sunday evening worship. I know that your church and church members were important to you both. May those brothers and sisters in Christ surround you and encourage your lives. My sincere condolences goes out to all of you that loved Steve so much. May God grant you peace and comfort knowing that he loved you all so much. What a wonderful man he was and he looks over you now proud that he had such a close family to carry on his legacy.

I am so sorry to hear Steve has passed. I have very fond memories of him from the times I spent with him when we (Mom Ann (Duncan) Boyd, Dad Dean Boyd and brother Jeff Boyd) came to Louisiana in the summer. He was a kind person and patient with two kids, and I know Mom valued her time and conversations with him. He was a good person. Aunt Olivet and Uncle Horace were lucky to have him as their son.

Steve was a good friend to drag racers. I always appreciated his quality work and fair prices at his machine shop. Steve was, as we say, “one of the good guys”.

Jason, we are so sorry to hear about your father. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Give Colton a big hug from Ryder. ????
