It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Andrew Alexander, known to many as Andy Alexander, born October 12, 1977. Andy was only 47 years old when he passed, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, grit, and passion. Though he died too young, he is now at peace, free from pain.
Andy was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose spirit touched the lives of many. Andy is survived by his mother, Faye Alexander, his father, Steve Alexander, and his brother, Bradley Alexander. He also leaves behind his three children from his marriage to Tracy Alexander: William Murphy Alexander and his wife Brooke, Skylar Alyce Alexander, and Hunter Cash Alexander. William, Skylar, and Cash Alexander meant everything to Andy, and he fought tirelessly to support them, even during the toughest times. Along with his children, he leaves behind two stepchildren from his marriage to Kasey Jo Alexander: Ivy Bridges and Jared Frith.
If you knew Andy, then you know he had a love for fishing and hunting. He rarely missed opening day of hunting season and was always ready to cast a line into the water. Andy passed this passion down to his two boys, Will and Cash, who will always remember him every time they shoot a gun or cast a rod.
He had hands of steel that could build anything, and he used that gift to build all of his daughter’s requests, no matter how hard or complicated they were. Needless to say, Andy was a jack of all trades and a master of most. There was nothing Andy couldn’t do, and if he didn’t know how to do it, he figured it out.
A memorial service to honor Andy’s life will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, Louisiana, on Sunday, May 25, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Following the service, a celebration of life will take place at Andy’s home in Downsville, Louisiana, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to join in sharing memories and celebrating the life of a remarkable man.
In tribute to Andy’s memory, we ask that you raise a glass of whiskey and toast to the Marlboro Man—a fitting salute to a man who lived life on his own terms.
Andy will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
