On Friday, April 10th, Steve Bailey Sr., passed away at the age of 72. He was a retired painter who enjoyed listening to country music and karaoke. He was a simple man and enjoyed his quiet and simple life. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 20 and served for four years.
Steve married the love of his life, Jerry Parsons, at the age of 23. They had two children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Steve was proceeded in death by his father George Rosco Bailey; mother Audrey Hart Bailey; and brother Michael Lee Bailey, Sr. He survived by his son Steve Barto Bailey, Jr. of Fort Gay, WV; daughter Michelle Bailey McQueen and husband Craig of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren Grace McQueen Kafati and husband Simon, Hayley Bailey, Austin Bailey, Cage McQueen, Dusty Bailey; great- grandchildren Maria Mae Kafati, Zayn Thomas Kafati, and Emmalee Kay Adkins. He is also survived by his two brothers Eddie Bailey of West Monroe, LA and Bobby Bailey and wife Susie of West Monroe, LA; two sisters Barbara Bailey Jordan and husband Bill of Orlando, FL and Debra Bailey and husband Dave of Homer, LA. He has 11 nieces and nephews and countless other family members.
There will be a Memorial/Celebration of Life held for Steve at a later date.
