To hear of Mr. Stein's passing was heart breaking. I worked for Mr. Stein at the drug store for a few months before I moved on into the profession I am now. Even though my employment at the pharmacy was brief, I learned a lot about the man he was. In my eyes, Mr. Stein was a true icon. Every time I saw him, he always went out of his way to give me a hug and do a little catch-up on what was going on in my life. His smile would brightened my day. Like so many others, I sure will miss that sweet gentleman. Love and prayers for the family. Kim Thompson

It is so essential for every successful community to have a catalyst that can inspire a feeling of pride for their town, Parish, State...and yet, make every person they come in contact with feel like they are his best friend. Losing someone that loved his God, his Country, his family, his friends with such a passion will be difficult . But, because he mentored so many through the years...time will reveal. Rest In Peace. Thank You, for all you have given to ALL of us.

We had only to see Stein occasionally over the years since we met him to feel the sadness and loss of his passing, not only for all of his immediate and extended family, but also for all of the Farmerville community. To meet Stein was to call him friend, which we feel blessed to have been able to do. We are praying that his legacy of love and faith in God lifts all of his precious family, especially you, Ann, He will live on in our hearts and memories.

Sending love and sympathies to Stein's family. A great loss to his family, his Church, and the Town. Stein was so nice to his customers and went the extra mile. In his high school and later days he was a strong competitor to my brother, Bobby Roberson, in Sports.

Some of my best memories are from time spent with friends over a cup of coffee at City Drug. One constant from those days was being met by a warm welcome and a great smile from the tall, handsome guy behind the pharmacy counter. There is no way to count how many thousands of folks Stein Jr. helped from behind that counter! He exuded genuine care and kindness to everyone and it was my great honor to have known him. Ann, I am sending love and prayers for you and your beautiful family along with my deepest sympathy.
