Sidney W. Hart, age 73, died June 29th, 2021 while at home surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Dorothy; two sons and their wives Kevin and Tonia Hart and Brett and Lindsay Hart. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Ava, Aidan, Tyler, and Hannah, and one great grandchild Piper Hart; brothers, Richard and Jim, and nephews Darrell, Austin and wife Shaina, and Garrett Hart.
Sidney was the son of Harlan and Birtie Hart and grew up in Cadiz, Kentucky. As a teenager he volunteered to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. After returning home, he moved to West Monroe, LA where he met the love of his life and started a family on a rural piece of land they worked to make their home.
Sidney enjoyed meeting people as a sales manager for Monroe Spring and Brake and spending his free time teaching his boys how to hunt, fish and work the land he was proud to raise them on. After retirement, he always looked forward to his annual trip to Myrtle Beach, SC to visit his Marine buddies and visiting his Cajun grandkids in Baton Rouge, LA.
He was preceded in death by both his parents Harlan and Birtie Hart; brothers John Earl Hart and David Harlan Hart; sister Dianne Wallace and brother-in-law Randy Wallace; nephew Steven Wallace and niece Stephanie Wallace.
A private ceremony for the family will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Sidney’s name to the Semper Fi Fund to help combat wounded and critically ill veterans.
