Sibyl Dorris Lear TruittKilpatrick Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LAFuneral services for Mrs. Sibyl Dorris Lear Truitt, 87, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 16, 2008 in the chapel of Kilpatrick?s Funeral Home in West Monroe. Officiating will be Bro. Ricky Baker. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.Sybil Truitt was a past owner of Beltone Hearing Aid in Monroe with husband, Albert Truitt. She was a faithful member and very active in the First Baptist Church and several civic organizations in the area. After her first husband passed away in 1957, she raised her four children in Illinois. She later met and married Albert Carpenter Truitt in 1967 and the relocated to Louisiana. They recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary.She was born August 29, 1920 in West Frankfort, Illinois, to Troy and Helen Dorris and died February 15, 2008 at Landmark Nursing Center in West Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death in 1957 by her first husband, Delbert Lear, her parents, her sister, Lucille Milton and her brother, Troy Dorris. She is survived by her husband, Albert Carpenter Truitt; three sons, Jim Lear and wife Laurie of West Monroe, LA; Jack Lear and wife, Gerry of Mechanicsburg, IL; and Bernie Lear and wife, Alisa, of Downsville, LA. She is also survived by one daughter, Suzann Lear Boyett, of Panama City Beach, FL and three step-daughters, Donna McCormick and husband Jim, Hagerstown, IN, Sharla Truitt, Hampstead, NC and Judy Shupe, Newport, NC; 11 grandchildren, Kelly Boyett Guillory, Mycal Boyett, Richard Boyett, Jennifer Boyett Burson, Bryant Lear, Diana Lear Rees, Adam Shupe, Tanya Shupe, Cliff Schweitzer, Cindy Gurtner, and Sara Moore, and 13 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Marie Dorris and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mycal Boyett, Richard Boyett, Bryant Lear, John Burson, Joey Swaggart, and Kenny Swaggart.Visitation will be Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 1:00 PM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children?s Home or charity of your choice.
