Shirley Elizabeth Corley was born September 12th, 1941, in Belleville, Illinois. She passed November 15th, 2021, in her hometown of Ruston, Louisiana at the age of 80.
Shirley worked her younger years in the emergency room at St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis. Shirley had two children, Deon Ray Pisarski & Rondelyn Sue Pisarski. She later adopted her granddaughter, Johnna Corley.
Shirley enjoyed riding motorcycles through the salt mines & attending the dirt races with her late husband John, who, even though she was widowed three times, he was without a doubt the love of her life! Shirley also enjoyed traveling extensively. After John’s passing, Shirley remarried Wilva Earl Corley. The two of them traveled far & wide, including moving to Saudi Arabia for a 14-year stent. Upon their return to the States, Shirley & Will pointed blindly to the map & landed on West Monroe, Louisiana where they decided they would settle until they smelled the papermill! They continued their travels west until they came to Ruston, Louisiana, where they planted their roots and remained the rest of their lives.
Shirley led a very eventful and colorful life. She is preceded in death by three husbands, Ron Emery, John Pisarski and Wilva Earl Corley. Her son, Deon Ray Pisarski and her daughter, Rondalyn Sue Pisarski. Surviving is her granddaughter, Johnna W. Sanders, son-in-law Jack Sanders, and great grandson Jaxson W. Sanders, along with numerous other friends & acquaintances.
