Mrs. Sherri Barfield Ferrel Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Sherri Barfield Ferrel, age 49, of Ruston will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rick Byargeon, Rev. David Abernathy and Rev. Ken Warren. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. On October 13, 2011, after a lengthy illness, God called Sherri to her heavenly home. Sherri was born February 23, 1962 and was raised in Dubach Louisiana. She graduated Valedictorian from Dubach High School and went on to get a Master's Degree from Louisiana Tech University. She worked for many years as a science teacher at Simsboro High School and spent a few years working in the CATALYST program at Louisiana Tech. Sherri was a strong woman who carried herself with grace and dignity even after she got sick. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was the best daughter, mother, sister, wife, YaYa and friend that anyone could ever ask for. She stayed positive until the end and was a wonderful role model to all that came in contact with her and knew her story. She was much loved and will be missed by all. The family would like to thank everyone for all their prayers and support during this difficult time, especially Dr. Osafo and the staff at Green Clinic for their exemplary care they provided for Sherri throughout her illness. Mrs. Ferrel was preceded in death by her father: Wayne Barfield; paternal grandparents: Melvin and Honrie Barfield; maternal grandparents; Coy and Tyrelle Colvin; and her father-in- law: James Ferrel. She is survived by her husband: Greg Ferrel; children: Casey Ferrel, Ashley Ferrel and Michelle Ferrel Robinson and husband Justin; grandchildren: Aidan Bryan, Brenton Bryan, Charlee Ward; expected baby Morton; and Dawson Perkins; mother: Priscilla Barfield; brother: Neal Barfield; mother and father -in-law: Helen and Earl Moore; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be David Wells, Doug Perry, Luke Ward, Matt Upchurch, Justin Williams, Cody Morton, Justin Robinson, and Casey Backhaus. Honorary pallbearers will be Dawson Perkins, Aidan Bryan, Brenton Bryan, and Cassidy Bryan. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to service time 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G.
