Sheila Bayles was born on June 17, 1941, in West Monroe to Bill and Floya Watson. She married her 1st husband, Captain Michael S. Walker, an Airforce Fighter Pilot. They had two children together, Mica & Stephen Walker. Mike died early on in their marriage in the Vietnam Conflict before their son, Stephen, was born. On December 8, 1973, Sheila married Jerry Bayles, together they had 2 more children, Cher & Beau Bayles.
Sheila started her career in the 1980’s as a realtor in Monroe, going on to get her Broker’s license and starting her own company (The Realty Network) with her partner Linda Hammonds (deceased). She had since retired from real estate some years ago.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a fun sense of humor and was always giving and offering help. She enjoyed playing tennis and attending LSU football games.  She loved being outside in her gardens, saying “this is where I feel closest to God.” The beach in Destin, Florida was her paradise. She and Jerry loved the white sand beaches and clear turquoise water of Destin, where they would stay out all day long. Their yearly family vacations were most often in Destin. Later in their lives, they were fortunate enough to have a residence there where their kids, grandkids and other extended family and friends were always welcomed for fun and relaxation. She had a passion for decorating, loved a variety of music and played the piano some. There was always music playing in their home. From crawfish boils to holidays and birthday parties, Sheila loved nothing more than the togetherness of her family and regularly hosted gatherings where she prepared vast buffets for dozens of family and friends. She loved sharing happiness and joy with others.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Floya and Bill Watson; mother and father-in-law, Sybil and Buron Bayles; her first husband, Mike Walker; and his parents, Anna and Smitty Walker.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Bayles; daughters, Mica Walker O’Neil and Cher Bayles; sons, Stephen Walker and Beau Bayles; grandchildren, Michael Walker, Lleyton Walker, Ely Walker, Maya O’Neil, Owen O’Neil, Jude Edwards, Evie Edwards, Jacob Bayles, Isaac Bayles;  sister, Sharon Heath; brother–in–laws, Ronnie Heath and Billy Bayles; sister–in–laws, Marsha Bayles and Roslyn Bourgeois; nieces and nephew, Jody Calloway, Heather Heath, Holly Heath, Simone Emert, Nicole Sears, Brice Bayles and Brittney Barton.

There will be a private family gathering with a celebration of Sheila’s life at a later date.
