Funeral services for Shannon Elizabeth Kennedy Cammack will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 12, 2022 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Tim Spencer of First Baptist Church of West Monroe will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Elizabeth Kennedy Cammack walked into the arms of Jesus on November 8, 2022. She was born March 16, 1976 to Walter Donald and Betty Choate Kennedy, and is survived by them and her husband Brad and son Dylan, two sisters Bridget Kennedy Wright and Victoria Kennedy, one brother Wayne Kennedy, two step daughters Kacie and Kerrie Cammack and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Mode and Opal Choate; paternal grandparents Burnice and Lennie Kennedy.

Elizabeth made life fun and could turn any moment into a happy one. She was a graduate of Cedar Creek School and Louisiana Tech University. She attended First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Elizabeth taught at Central Elementary. Her trusty teaching assistant Felix the Cat helped her connect with students and made her classroom a fun learning experience. She took Dylan to various states for adventures, but her favorite place was the Great Smoky Mountains and wading in mountain streams. There is one less angel here, but one more soul now in Heaven.

I'm so sorry to hear about Elizabeth. She was a wonderful lady and an exceptional teacher. I remember when I asked her to move from 4th grade down to teach 3rd grade. She wasn't happy with me but later thanked me because she found out it fit her so much better as she fell in love with third grade. She was really happy teaching and especially teaching third grade with Felix. She will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Elizabeth will be missed. She was a pleasure to know and a pleasure to work with. May she Rest In Peace.

He was so excited that he got his big brothers favorite teacher. She quickly became his favorite as well. She is such a special gift that we will always treasure!

Mrs.Cammack was so very special to both of my boys. They loved her dearly and she was both of theirs favorite teacher. She was patient(which both of my babies needed), kind, so full of joy (which spilled over to the kids), and so very loving. She will never be forgotten. And she will forever be missed. She is so loved by all of us.

We all know Elementary teachers are hard to remember from being so young. This one always stuck to me. Her and Felix the cat always made my day. I spent almost all of my extra time in her class with her and Felix. One day I vividly remember I told her Felix needed a house. I worked all class to make him a house in a kleenex box with a bed and all. She kept it all year and even when I was out of her class she still had it later on. My heart is broken today for such an amazing person and teacher.

Shannon came from a well stocked family of Southerners. I know her her father and Uncle. They are the finest people. If only I'd had the pleasure.
