Funeral services for Sarah Virginia Ayers, 95, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana.  Richard Richardson and James Richard “J.R” Wells will officiate.  Interment will follow at Ouachita City Cemetery, near Sterlington, Louisiana, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Sarah Virginia Ayers was born on December 21, 1928 in Ouachita City, Louisiana and passed away on September 14, 2024 in Ruston, Louisiana.  Virginia Ayers was preceded in death by her daughters, Sarah Berylene Moore and Sherry Plunk; mother, Ida Mae Wells; father, James Edward Wells; and brother, Robert Brooks Wells.

Loved ones left to cherish her memories are her children, Jennifer McDaniel, Kenneth DeLancy and wife Shannon, Phyllis DeLancy, Scarlette Black and husband Steve, and Robin DeLancy; sisters, Billye Jean Murphy and Laverne Davis; brother, James Edward Wells and wife Laetta; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and along with other extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mike Moore, Shane Moore, Christopher Moore, Richard Richardson, Beryl Richardson, Dewayne Richardson, Don Plunk, Dustin Delancy, Daniel Delancy, David Delancy, Justin Delancy and John Adam Richie.

Honorary pallbearers will be the great-grandsons and great-great grandsons.
