Sarah Elizabeth Roberson, 91, loving Mother and Granny, was born on June 16, 1933 and passed away peacefully and met Jesus face to face on October 23, 2024 in Farmerville, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Sterlington, Louisiana with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Dennis Hackler and Bro. Ben Hackler officiating. Interment will be at Liberty-Linville Cemetery under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville.
Like a true Southern Lady, Elizabeth loved to cook for her family and friends and loved to socialize with others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sterlington and had worked at Marion State Bank and Allen Bro. Feed Mill in Marion.
Elizabeth lived a life committed to Christ and wanted everyone to know all about Jesus. Watching her children and grandchildren choose to follow Christ was one of her greatest joys in life. She also loved studying God’s word and teaching Sunday School. Even in the last few years, she enjoyed leading a devotion with a group of ladies at Azalea Estates Assisted Living.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rufus “June” Roberson, Jr., who she married on December 22, 1950; parents, Joe and Robbie McIntosh; sister, Lois Kennedy (Sam); infant son, Rufus Alan; and infant great-grandson, Samuel Jans.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Terry Roberson (Penny) and Johnny Roberson (Belinda), both of Sterlington; grandchildren, Jenni Anderson (Mack), Mary Jans (Austin), Kayla Thompson (Robby), and Logan Roberson (Emily); great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Allie Grace, June, Kate, William, Caroline, Eliza, Scarlett, and Tyler; and special niece, Joie.
Pallbearers are Logan Roberson, Robby Thompson, Mack Anderson, Austin Jans, Jimmy Powell, and John Calvin Franklin.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Arbor Lake Nursing Home and Elara Hospice.
Memorials may be made to the Sterlington First Baptist Church Building Fund.
