Sara Susanne Lowe Parker, 36, of Ruston, Louisiana departed this life to be with her Lord on Monday, July 22nd, 2013, after suffering complications from pneumonia. Sara resided in Ruston, Louisiana with her beloved husband, Ruston Police Department Captain Tim Parker, and their children, Elizabeth Erin Parker 17, Brett Anthony Parker 10, and Erin Katherine Parker 7. Sara was born on October 8th, 1976, the child of Mr. David K. Lowe and Mrs. Sara Gwynne Froman Lowe where she was raised in a Christian home. She graduated from Minden High School in 1995. She especially enjoyed art and photography. She was active in 4-H and enjoyed softball. She loved all kinds of animals during her early years. Later, Sara attended Louisiana Tech University where she studied Psychology. Sara also had a career in law enforcement. She began as a University Police Officer, but moved to the Ruston City Marshall's Office. Later she was recruited by her future Father-In-Law, Ted Parker, to help build the Ruston City Probation Program which became the successful standard program for many cities in Louisiana. She has served as a Lincoln Parish Deputy Sherriff for the last 9 years. She was an avid horse lover and collector and greatly enjoyed riding. She loved all things artistic and was a fantastic photographer, and loved to sketch and draw. On family trips, it was rare to see Sara Sue without a camera in her hand. She loved any technology and was a true “Gadget Girl”. Sara also loved the study of Celtic and Southern history, and was very proud of her Southern and Scotch-Irish Ancestry. With her husband Tim, Sara was a proud Patron of the Lyon College Scottish Heritage Program and enjoyed the annual pilgrimage to Batesville, Arkansas to support that program. She loved to travel and had been to several countries, including her favorite location, Banff Canada. Overall, she was a very active woman who truly loved simply living her life. But even more so, she loved her family. Sara was a wonderful example of a loyal and dutiful wife. She was a helpmate and perfect partner to her husband Tim. There was no place Sara would rather be than with her husband and children. Sara would say her greatest accomplishment was raising her children. Sara was, by all accounts, a fantastic mother and leaves a wonderful example for them to carry onward. Sara was a cherished daughter, who loved her parents very much, as well as her in-laws, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Sara Susanne Lowe Parker is survived by her husband, children, parents; and Grandfather Charles Froman of Mansfield, Louisiana; Grandmother Dana McClurg of Leitchfield, Ky; Mother/Father-in-Law Ted and Mary Parker of Leitchfield, Kentucky, and Brother/Sister-In-Law, Dana “Sissy” and Wallace Anderson of Leitchfield, KY. She was preceded in death by her Grandmothers; Mary Foxx Froman and Esther Childs Lowe, and Grandfather Wilburn Montrose Lowe II. Visitation will be Wednesday July 24th at 5-7pm and is entrusted to Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana. Brother Dana Thrash will lead a Memorial Service celebrating Sara's Life at Grace United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM on Thursday July 25th in Ruston, Louisiana followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery near Minden, Louisiana at approximately 12:30 PM.
