A Celebration of Life for Sara Inez Humphries will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens, West Monroe. Skye Hill will officiate.
Sara Inez Humphries, 64, born November 10, 1959, was received by Jesus on March 7, 2024, after a tragic accident in West Monroe.
Sara was preceded in death by her mother, Darcus Marie Thompson Leggett Humphries; father, Ernest Christopher Humphries, Jr.; brothers, Ernest Elton Humphries and Jerry Layne Humphries.
Sara is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Marie Leggett Yuenger, Rita Faye Humphries; brothers, Gary Wayne Humphries, Louis A. (Sonny) Leggett; sons by love, JP Brooks, Joey Stanga, Clint Hollis; sister-in-law, Shirley Welty Humphries LaLumandier, Martha Herrick Humphries; nieces, Angelic Marie Humphries Roper, Serah Mechell Humphries Bezzard, Heide Jo Yuenger Kerns; her canine companions, Hugo and Junior; as well as a host of family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Sara was a phenomenal mechanic and had a deep love of nature and loved fishing and hunting. She was so proud to have killed her first spike (buck) in 2022. Sara had developed a desire to learn about wild plants for healing and medicinal purposes. She passed away doing what she loved, foraging. Sara collected rocks and crystals putting their healing energy to use for others.
Sara’s loving and generous spirit continues to touch lives. It was her desire that when she passed on, if she could help improve or even save someone’s life by organ donation, she would. We have honored her wishes by doing so. Sara had a beautiful spirit and love for those around her, that will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency and the staff at LSUS.
