A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Sandra Annette McKneely, 79, of Ruston, Louisiana, will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM, at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, LA with Dr. Reggie Bridges and Brother Dale Oden officiating. Following the memorial service in the sanctuary, there will be a celebration of life reception in the fellowship hall.Mrs. McKneely passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 14, 1938 in Ruston, LA to Fenton Keith Mathewes and Francis Barmore Mathewes, who preceded her in death.She was united in marriage to Ronald Keith McKneely of Ruston, LA. On April 11, 2018, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage.Mimi, as she was so affectionately nicknamed by her grandchildren, dearly loved her family and all those around her. She never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone who would listen. She was devoted to her church and loved her Sunday School Class. She spent countless hours devoting her time to various church activities and never hesitated to lend a helping hand when needed. She was well known for her kind heart and generous giving spirit. In keeping with that spirit of giving to others, inJuly, 2000, she made the selfless decision to donate her body to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.She had a smile and a sweetness that could light up the room. She was passionate about La. Tech sports and was one of their best cheerleaders for many, many years. She loved cooking and entertaining, and enjoyed spending time at her camp on Lake DArbonne. For many years, she was an avid bridge player and was a member of various bible study groups. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling.Her greatest passion was spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family.
