Dear Gloria, We have thought about you and Sam many times in recent years. Sam was always friendly and optimistic even though he had his troubles. You also have been such a loving caregiver. We pray for you during your sorrow.

Sam Spearman will be missed not only by his family, but also by his many friends. I have known Sam for most of my adult life. He was like a brother! Sam and Glo had a vacation home next to our vacation cabin at Wilson Lake, below Wheeler Dam (Tenn. River) where for many years we enjoyed our retirement fishing together and enjoying Sam's "special" fish fries with all the neighbors. Sam was a dedicated Christian man. My wife,Janet and I personally saw Sam's deep faith manifest itself many times over our years of friendship. Before his retirement. Sam was a men's Sunday School Teacher and Church sound booth co-ordinator at our former church (now McDonough Road Baptist). Each summer he used a week of his vacation to drive our church bus taking teenagers on mission trips over many parts of the U.S. During his work career, he was responsible for installing computer systems/TV monitors, etc. at major U.S. airports. Sam was also a (Black Belt) in karate and enjoyed explaining this art to many of his friends. Until we meet again, my friend!
