Visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Sammy was born July 11, 1975 in Monroe, LA and passed away May 4, 2022 at the age of 46. Sammy was a former graduate of West Monroe High School and the superintendent at JMS Contractors LLC in Natchitoches, LA.
Sammy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and James Price and Alice and Samuel B. Simpson Jr.; his twin sister Tammy Simpson Henry; mother-in-law Jerene Davis and his beloved “momo” Maurene Sims.
Sammy was a simple man that worked hard to make sure his family was provided for in every way with a heart of gold and that beautiful dimpled smile, you could always find him lending a hand to others in his spare time. He was a jokester who loved to sing and dance and just have fun. Especially to his most requested song…If you’re a friend, well you know the song! He loved being outdoors and also enjoyed watching sports. Although his favorites were the ones his son was involved in through the years. His most treasured time spent was with his kids and grandchildren. He was the most steadfast loving husband, father, and Papaw our little family could have ever asked for! Although our hearts are broken that he was taken from us way too soon, his memory will forever live on through his loved ones left behind.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife and partner of 23 years Jennifer Simpson; daughters Morgan Simpson and Saige Erwin; his son Raleigh Simpson; 2 precious grandchildren Eli Gangaraju and Lola Rose Erwin; his parents Sam and Cathy Simpson; sister Christine Adkins and husband Bob; father-in-law Roy Davis; his “Pop” Jerrell Jones and wife Jewel; sisters-in-law Gwen Davis and Gail Smith; brother-in-law Wade Jones and wife Paula; numerous extended family members and friends.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be Mike Anderson, Danny Wilson, Kacy Durbin, Trey Hodge, Troy Ambrose and his son Raleigh Simpson.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Ambrose family for going above and beyond in our time of need. Also to the staff at St. Joseph Hospice especially to our nurses, Erica and Courtney for providing exceptional care and emotional support. To all the family and friends that donated, brought food, sold cards and prayed for Sammy and our family. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. May God Bless You All !
