“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 On June 12 2012, at the age of 87, Sam Davis completed the final season of his earthly life and entered Heaven in Jesus's arms. Mr. Davis was born June 11, 1925, in Dubach, La. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 14, 2012, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with the Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA . Preceding Sam in death was his wife of 63 years, Helen Spillers Davis, an infant son, Kenneth Davis, four sisters and three brothers. Mr. Davis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather , great –grandfather, and friend to many. He was retired from Howard Brothers as a Shipping Supervisor. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with cattle. Mondays would find him at the Livestock Barn in West Monroe. Weekday mornings Sam would join his coffee drinking buddies at Spiller's Store in Calhoun where they would swap stories and enjoy fellowship. Our daddy had a heart of gold and was quick to help those in need. Sunday mornings were a special time to enjoy his Church Services where he loved watching the children in their activities. Survivors include son, Dale Davis and wife Carolyn; son, Donald Davis and wife Debbie; daughter, Joyce DeMoss and husband Mike; grandchildren, Chris Davis, Kim Davis Jones and husband Jason, Brandy Davis, David DeMoss, and Jacob DeMoss ; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones and Jamie Jones, and a very special friend, Gay Walker. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Glenwood Hospital, Dr. Olinde, Dr. Ron Koepke, Anthony Perkins , APRN and Judy Parks, APRN . Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Jason Jones, David DeMoss, Jacob DeMoss, Terry Lewis, and Stuart Lewis.
