A celebration of the joyful life of Ruth Winstead Carwile, who passed away peacefully Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the age of 86, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, 209 N. Bonner Street, Ruston, LA. Rev. Thomas W. Stodghill III will officiate. Visitation is Thursday from 1-2 PM prior to the service at Kilpatrick.Ruth was born to Dr. Guy Fields Winstead and May Bland Winstead on March 7, 1931. She was a preacher daughter, and a lifelong Southern Baptist. Ruth was a sweet, joyful person who loved the Lord, her husband of almost 60 years, her sons, and those grandkids! Many others would often express she had the sweetest spirit. She brought joy into every room she entered, touching the lives of hundreds, as indicated by the almost 350 messages of condolences on her sons Facebook pages. Now, Miss Ruth is home in Heaven in the place that Jesus prepared for her.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband, Floyd H.
