Rufus ¨June Roberson, Jr. was born on February 15, 1926 and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on August 26, 2006. He was a loving husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother and friend. June was a faithful servant to his Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sterlington where he served as a deacon and a member of the choir. He was a dedicated employee at IMC chemical plant for 41 years and retired in 1989. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He loved hunting and working outside his home in Spencer, LA. The love of June≠s life was his family. He didn≠t miss a single dance recital, cheer competition, baseball, football, or softball game. We couldn≠t have asked for a more loving father and grandfather. He will always be remembered by his sweet smile and loving spirit. The Lord could not have given us a more kindhearted man that influenced and taught us all how to love by example. Family and friends will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by a son, Rufus Alan Roberson; his father and mother, Rufus and Alma Roberson; 2 brothers, J. B. Roberson and Donald Roberson; and 2 brothers-in-law, G. W. Defee and Willard Acree. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Roberson; children, Terry and Penny Roberson and Johnny and Belinda Roberson; 4 very special grandchildren, Jenni Anderson and husband, Mack, Mary Roberson, Kayla Hodge and husband, Justin, and Logan Roberson; 2 sisters, Peggy Defee and Becky Turner; 2 brothers, Bobby Roberson and wife, Helen, and Dewey Roberson and wife, Gaye; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends, and a very special friend, ¨Rolo.
