\tRobert William Bob Turner of Choudrant, LA left this earth to be with his Father in Heaven on May 31, 2017. Bob passed away at his residence peacefully after a brief illness with cancer. Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 59 years, Honor Jean Tarbutton Turner, and his four sons: Bill Turner and wife Vicki of Choudrant, LA, Paul Turner and wife Lori of Cincinnati, OH, Jim Turner and wife Kay of Dubach, LA, and Chuck Turner and wife, Remona, of Ruston, LA. He is also survived by four grandsons Brad Turner, Clay turner, Kevin Turner and wife, Ashley, and Casey Turner and wife Haley. Great grandchildren are Brantley and Hunter Turner, Olivia Katherine Turner, and Olivia Taylor Martin. Siblings are brother, Jackie Turner and wife, Diane, of Saline, KS and sister, Mary Rose Turner Davis of Bossier City, LA. There are several nieces and nephews.\tMr. Turner graduated from Ruston High School in 1954. He joined the United States Navy on July 1, 1954 and served on the USS Wisconsin until August of 1957. After an Honorable discharge, he joined the U.S. Navy Reserve and served for five years and also attended Louisiana Tech University for two years. He was a member of the Louisiana National Guard 527th Engineer Battalion until 1982.\tBob worked for Louisiana Department of Highways and Transportation as Civil Engineer and Inspector and retired in 1975. Bob then began work for Lincoln Parish Police Jury in April, 1975 where he established and built the Lincoln Parish Solid Waste Department. He was Lincoln Parish Waste Department Superintendent until September 2000.\tMr. Turner retired September 10, 2000 where he resided at his house in Choudrant, Louisiana. He enjoyed raising his farm animals and growing his gardens. He also enjoyed mowing his yard and maintaining his property. Bob was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and served Elder Emeritus.\tVisitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM. A celebration of life will be at John Knox Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Pines Memorial Cemetery.
