Robert William Truett, Sr., 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 23, 2022.

Robert was born on February 1, 1934, in Newellton, Louisiana to the late William Otto and Lillie Mae Parrish Truett. He grew up in Columbia, Louisiana with his four sisters and was a loyal union electrician for over 50 years with IBEW Local 446. He was incredibly hard working and very proud of his work on many projects throughout his career. After retirement, he enjoyed many years of riding his tractor with his dog, tending to his garden, and most importantly, as close to the love of his life as he could be. He and the late Shirley Jo Young Truett were proud to be married 65 years and were most proud of their 4 kids, 8 grandchildren, and numerous great – grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his late wife, Shirley Jo Young Truett. He is survived by his children, Robert Truett, Jr. (Deborah), James Truett (Terri), Pam Truett, and Gary Truett (Rhonda); 8 grandchildren, Amanda Truett Smith, Nicole Truett, Leslie Fatheree, Stacey Truett Thomas, Seth Truett, Katie Truett, Ashley Truett Petch, and Adriana Truett; sister, Helen Truett; numerous grandchildren and other cherished family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens (8729 Cypress Street, West Monroe, Louisiana 71291) under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe.  Brother Joey Pepmiller will be officiating, and visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Seth Truett, Caden Smith, Asher Truett, Thomas Davis, Patrick Thomas, and Matthew Petch.
