“When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.” Anonymous
Robert “Bobby” Wallace, Sr. was born to Aubrey and Hazel Wallace in Monroe, Louisiana, on September 13, 1946. He married his high school sweetheart, Nemery, in 1963, and they went on to have two sons, Robert Wallace Jr. and William “Billy” Wallace. Bobby worked as a welder on oil rigs in his younger days, which took him and his family to Vicksburg, South Louisiana, and parts of Texas. In 1970, Bobby’s father asked him to come home to West Monroe to help with the family business, American Window and Overhead Door Company, Inc. Bobby eventually took over the business after his father’s passing. He continued to expand and build the business until early 2022. During his time at home, he and his wife were members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. During the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, Bobby and Nemery could always be found riding to new destinations with the wind in their hair. They visited 46 different states on their Gold Wing. Bobby was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America from high school until both of his sons earned and were honored with Eagle Scout and the Order of the Arrow. In his personal time, he enjoyed hunting, keeping up with modern technology, and spending time with his family.
Bobby left this earth on September 20, 2022, to be reunited with his father, Aubrey, and mother, Hazel, in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Nemery, and two sons, Robert Wallace Jr. and his wife, Michelle Wallace, and William “Billy” Wallace and his wife, Dianne Wallace. He is also survived by two grand-daughters, Heaven Urbanczyk and her husband, Aaron Urbanczyk, and MacKaylin Wallace, and her husband Cody Culpepper, and two great-grandsons, William Raiden Snyder and Fynn Wallace Urbanczyk. Other survivors include Bobby’s three siblings, Patricia Gray, Marianne Guillory, David Wallace, and several nieces and nephews.
