Funeral services for Robert Stewart will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church. Rev. Shelley Hill will be officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Robert was born November 14, 1946 in Bastrop, LA and passed away July 26. 2020. He was the only child of his parents, A. L. and Maxine Stewart. Robert was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, West Monroe where he served on several committees. He graduated from Beekman School, Bastrop, LA and from LA Tech, Ruston, LA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force and was proud to serve his country during the Vietnam Era from 1967-1971 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1971. He worked as a project engineer at International Paper (IP), HAFCO and Don Johnson Engineering. Robert retired from the United States Fish and Wildlife in 2012. Throughout his military and working career, he earned several certificates and awards. He loved to fish and would fish anytime he had the opportunity. When he was not fishing, he could be found in the yard or in the shop working on another project. He loved playing with his grandchildren and was loved and will be missed by many.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 26 years, Nancy Stewart; son Brian Stewart (Erin); daughter Donna Harrell (Donnie); step-sons Todd Cantrell (Ashley), Brad Cantrell and Chad Cantrell (Chely); grandchildren; Leythan Stewart, Emilee Stewart, Jeremiah (JT), Cantrell (Faith), Jacob (CJ) Cantrell (Alora), Jasmine Cantrell, Chaya Cantrell, Zach Harrell and Chelsi Hales; brother- in- law, Danny Risher, sister-in-law Joyce Stuckey, nephew, Phillip RIsher; many friends, cousins, acquaintances and co-workers.
Pallbearers will be Dwain Sutton, Kevin Craighead, Johnny Williams, Don Newell, Keith Johnson, Danny Worley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ron McGill, Jamie Orten, Ed Rowan, John Preaus and Paxton Oliver.
