Funeral services for Mr. Robert Pete Peters, 83, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Peniel Baptist Church. Rev. Eddy Shoemaker and Rev. Clint Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Pete was born February 9, 1930 in Elmore County, Alabama to the union of Daniel and Frances Peters and passed from this life on October 26, 2013 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Lou Strength, a daughter Beverly Ann Peters; grandchildren, Johnny and Tammy Fletcher and Donnie Gills. Mr. Peters served in The Korean War and was one of the original Olinkraft Drivers, and never had an accountable accident. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren across country with him. Pete had so many camping and Bluegrass friends. He was known to all as PaPaw and was a lifelong member of Peniel Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School class. Pete is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Peters; son, Tab Peters and wife Melissa; 4 daughters; Janice Parker, Theresa Casper and husband Joe, Doris Peters, Frances Wood and husband Hugh; grandchildren; Charlie and wife Kristie Watkins, Dawn Watkins, Shannon and wife Marcy Casper, Daniel and wife Tiffany Casper, Jody and husband Randem Evans, Christopher and wife Whitney King, Justin and wife Andrea King, Kelli and husband Marcus Coats, Chas and wife Danielle Hanna, Brian Hanna, Eli Truan, Tabitha and husband Evan West and Wesley Peters; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Christopher King, Justin King, Chas Hanna, Brian Hanna, Daniel Casper, Charlie Watkins, Wesley Peters, Eli Truan and Marcus Coats. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Peniel Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Institute.
