Funeral services for Robert Neadham Colvin, 85, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at North Monroe Baptist Church, Monroe, Louisiana. Officiating will be Dr. Bill Dye and Rev. Warren Eckhardt. Interment will follow at Unionville Cemetery, Dubuch, Louisiana. Visitation will be 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at North Monroe Baptist Church. All services are under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, Louisiana.
Bob was born on March 13, 1939 in Ruston, Louisiana and passed away on February 23, 2025 in Monroe, Louisiana.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Norma Colvin; his parents-in-law, M.D. and Doris Billberry and his cousins, Gil Colvin, Bubba Colvin and Sarah Jo Colvin Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Colvin; children, Lane (Lisa) Colvin, Paige (Tommy) Puckett, Elizabeth (Scott) Nunnelee and Christopher (Leigh) Colvin; grandchildren, Jackson (Taylor) Puckett, Allison (Josh) Masterson, Griffin Nunnelee, Grayson Colvin, Jake (Noelle) Pevehouse, Joshua (Katie) Pevehouse and Jonah Pevehouse; great-grandchildren, Jacob Puckett, Avery Puckett and John Pevehouse.
Bob married the love of his life on April 20, 1962. He earned a scholastic and baseball scholarship to Louisiana Technical University. He attended Tech for 3 years, and then graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. After graduation, he joined Texas Eastern Gas in Shreveport, LA. He trained as a computer programmer/system analyst. From there, he moved his family to Monroe and joined Olinkraft (Manville). He retired from the City of Monroe as a programmer.
Bob was ordained as a deacon in 1985 at North Monroe Baptist Church, where he also served as Sunday School teacher, on several committees, and was very active in the Senior Adult Class.
Bob loved to “piddle” around the family farm in Unionville, bird and squirrel watching from the back porch of his home. Family vacations at Lake DeGray and then later in Gulf Shores were among his favorite of the activities spent with his family. He had a great smile, friendly nature and could have a conversation with anyone he met. He was a lover of dogs and was currently raising a family of raccoons in the backyard. In short, he was a good man who will be missed by so many.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Puckett, Griffin Nunnelee, Josh Masterson, Joey Billberry, Bart Redden and Cooper McDonald.
