Funeral services for Robert Elroy Smith, 69, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2019, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe with Charles Barley officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the funeral home.Robert was born August 6, 1949 in Monroe, LA and passed away March 15, 2019 in West Monroe, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents Dayton and Ella Mae Smith; his brother James E. Smith; sister, Frances O. Smith; daughter, Crystal M. Smith; granddaughter, Madalyn Bauer; grandson, Roman Bauer; and brother-in-law, Ben Savage.Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Robbie L. Smith; son, Robert Scott Smith and wife Denise; son, Shannon Dale Smith, Sr. and significant other Renata Bynum; daughter, Angela Dawn Nappier and husband George; daughter, Brigette Renea Bauer and husband Rhett; son, Michael Todd Ponsell; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Betty A. Smith and Dale Savage; and numerous nieces and nephews.Robert was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, the Old Timers Cruisin Club and a former member of the NELA CB Radio Club.
