Duck was born June 12, 1962, in Monroe, LA and passed away October 21, 2024, at his home in West Monroe, Louisiana. Duck was a retired truck driver who enjoyed spending most of his adult life traveling across the country. Duck was a very talented guitarist that learned to play by ear at a very young age. Although his health prevented him from doing many things he enjoyed, playing the guitar was one of the things he missed most. He also enjoyed attending services at Luna Assembly of God Church when his health permitted.
Duck had a talent for nicknaming everyone and everything from friends and family to pets. His teasing was a sign of his love, making those he cared about feel special. He filled the lives of his family with laughter, creating memories we will always cherish.
Duck was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Myers (Jordan). Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Brinkley Myers; brother, Leonard Myers (Dolly), and sister, Julie Masters (Brian); cherished companion and love of his life, Conni Parks; faithful dog, Weezer, whose loyalty and companionship brought him immense joy and comfort; and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-15
