Richard I. Stevenson, age 73, of Ruston passed away at home on Sunday, July 7, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. Richard was born on February 15, 1941 in Hodge, LA. He attended First Baptist Church in Ruston. He proudly served in the United States Navy and recently retired from ATP Oil Company where he was an Offshore Installation Manager. Richard enjoyed hunting and playing golf. He was always upbeat and had a great outlook on life. He is preceded in death by his father Harry Stevenson and mother Gladys Stevenson of Winnfield, LA; and his sister Debbie Stevenson Smith of Sweeny, TX. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gerri Stevenson of Ruston, LA; his children Kerry Lynn Stevenson of Calvin, Shantel “Shu-Shu” Cader and her husband Brian of Jena, Richard “Dickie” Stevenson and his wife Chris of Alexandria, Carla Roundtree and husband Bill of Ruston; grandchildren, Miranda Carter and husband David of Calvin, Wesley Stevenson and wife Misty of Calvin, Justin Stevenson, Jessica Stevenson both of Florida, Blake Phillips, Blare Phillips, Beau Bryan all of Jena, Makinlee Stevenson of Alexandria, Kirsti Roundtree of Ruston, Heath Roundtree of Baltimore, Maryland; 10 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother, John Mark “Sparky” Stevenson and his wife Shelia of Bienville, LA; and sister, Nelda Carter and husband Sammie of Jonesboro, LA. A Private Memorial and Funeral arrangements are planned for a later date.
