Richard Gregory Hudson Richard Gregory Hudson, age 62, died peacefully in his sleep September 3, 2015. Greg was born July 4, 1953 to Della Elizabeth Butler Hudson and Richard Dick Hudson. Greg was a graduate of Ruston High School and attended Louisiana Tech University. He became executive officer of Hudson Oil Company in 1985 when his mother became ill with cancer and his Dad retired to be her caregiver. Greg was a devoted father to his two sons. For over 10 years, he volunteered as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 59. He saw his oldest son Zack receive his Eagle Scout Badge. He was instrumental in getting his son Matthew a trip to Disney World thru the Make a Wish foundation. Greg loved the outdoors and spent many hours canoeing the Buffalo River with his dad and friends. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Zack Hudson and wife Sharon, Matthew Hudson and wife Crystal; two precious grandchildren, Beth Hudson and Benjamin Hudson; sisters, Della Beard and husband Kerry, Marta Campbell and husband Allen; his step-mother, Erma Hudson; Brenda Hudson, the mother of his children; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church Chapel. Greg longtime friend and mentor Rev. Carl Norris will conduct the service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
