Funeral services for Richard Eugene Eppler, 86 of Calhoun, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 4, 2024 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Rev. Neil Everett will officiate and interment will follow at Weldon Cemetery under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Richard served 22 years in the Air Force. He loved his family and was very devoted to his wife. He loved to collect coins, stamps and also paint wildlife. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Sue Eppler; mother, Violet Benz; father, Alfred Eppler; and his half-brother, Charles Benz.

Richard is survived by his son, Richard Eugene Eppler Jr. and his wife Teri; daughter, Michele Eppler West and her husband Bruce; grandsons, Bruce West Jr and his wife Shelby, Brandon West and his wife Alisha, Brett West; great granddaughters, Addison West, Zoey West; great grandsons, Braylon West and Brody West; half-sister, Linda Rolfs; half-brother, Jack Benz; and many other cherished family and friends.
