Funeral services for Rev. Thomas ‘’David” Martin 86, of Farmerville, LA will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Farmerville. Officiating will be Rev. Kurt Auger. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA. Interment will follow at Wards Chapel Cemetery in Farmerville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA.
David was born on December 6, 1934 in Martinsville, Ms. and passed away on December 17, 2020 in Farmerville. He served in the U.S Navy during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. Bro. David was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmerville and pastored at churches in Wilson, La., Natchitoches, La. Glenmora, La. , New Iberia,La, Opelousas, La., Laran, La., as well as the First Baptist Church of Farmerville. He was preceded in death by his first wife Kathleen Ann Brister Martin, wife Patsy “Pat” Martin, parents, Charlie A. Martin and Vera B. Martin, sister, Theresa Martin Talley, brothers, Albert ‟Joseph’’ Martin and Charles Martin, he also leaves behind a dear friend who’s like a brother, Rev. James Miller.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his children, William D. “Billy” Martin (Lynn) of Farmerville, LA; Catherine D. Martin Dissinger (John) of Plano, TX; Michael Stephen Martin (Kimberly) of Owasso, OK; Dennis Russell (Terri) of Downsville, LA; Danny Russell (Mona) of Madisonville, LA., Delanie Russell Wylie of Monroe, LA and their families; nine grandchildren, David Martin, Jonathan Martin, Samuel Martin, Grace Martin, Derek Russell, Lindsey Rodrigue, McKensey Aranguren, Seth Wylie, and Sarah Beth Rushing; numerous great- grandchildren; and special cousins Virginia Martin Moses and Carolyn Martin Allen.
Pallbearers will be Brent Crawford, Johnny Creed, John Dissinger, Keith Huey, Taylor Huey, and Kenneth Ramsey.
