My late husband, John Whitley, gave full credit to Bro. Doug for bringing him back into the church long before I met John. Bro Doug was his pastor in Baton Rouge and he became very involved in the church. Bro. Doug's influence on John impacted our whole family because John was a wonderful husband and step father to three growing children. We are so grateful to Bro. Doug for his wonderful influence that trickled down to others that he never knew.

One of the true blessings of my family is having known and laughed together for several decades. From Arcadia in the 30's til Ruston two weeks ago at church. What a friend...What a man... What a mentor! Well Done My Friend.

The Rev. Mr. Doug McGuire was a wonderful man, minister, and friend. His influence will not be known nor can it be comprehended on earth. His humor assisted him in ministry to hundreds of recipients. We marvel at how he was able to live with such a good nature in spite of illness. We will miss him.

Doug was a model of respectful enjoyment of others, and genuine, nonjudgmental generosity. His family and friends have received and lost a most grace-filled blessing from him. The hole he leaves in us is gigantic.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Doug and Mabel were two caring friendly people who welcomed me to Trinity United Methodist and to Trinity when I move to Ruston from Texas. Doug always asked about my son who has many health problems even to the last time he was in church. He was a very special, caring, giving person. I know he and Betsy are having a great time visiting. My love and care to each of you.

Sandy, Vicki, Hank, and family, Brother McGuire was the kindest, most loving, tenderhearted man to ever walk the face of this earth. Always had a kind word, and always cracking jokes. So precious. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The angels in heaven are having quite a celebration now. One of their beloved angels has returned home. My love and prayers are with you all.
