It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Raymond (Ray) Williams, 91. A celebration of his life for those that he touched will be held at 12:00 noon. Tuesday May 31, 2022 at Kilpatrick Funeral home in West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Dr. Mark Fenn will be officiating the service. Private interment services to follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA.
A strong father and devoted husband, Ray worked at State Farm Insurance for over 34 years where he touched many lives as a Divisional Auto Claim Superintendent before retiring in 1994. He received a Law Degree from Jackson School of Law where he went to school at night while working and raising a family. Ray was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Ray was also a dedicated Shriner, he always enjoyed helping with the Shriner Circus and raising funds for the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. He had a passion for baseball and the outdoors, learning to hunt quail in the hills of Alabama as a youth and duck hunting with his sons after moving to Louisiana in the late 60’s.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Porter O. Williams; his mother, Winnie; and his step-mother, Thelma. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Troy O. Williams and wife Betty.
Ray is survived his wife of 66 years, Anna and by 3 sons, Ray Williams Jr. (Missy) and grand-children Sarah and Hannah, Steve Williams (Bridget) and grand-children Bailey and Aniston, Jeff Williams (Michelle) and grand-children Rayne and Piper.
