Funeral services for Raymond “Ray” Doolittle, 70 of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday April 18, 2012 at Feazel Chapel of First Baptist Church West Monroe. Rev. Dwight Munn and Tommy Goleman will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Doolittle was born April 18, 1941 in Clarks, LA and passed away April 15, 2012 at his home in West Monroe, LA after a brief illness. He was a member of First Baptist Church, West Monroe and The Gideons International. Mr. Doolittle retired from US Food Service after 35 years of service, where he was the Territorial Manager having received many awards and acknowledgements for his dedicated service. In addition to his love for his Lord, Raymond loved to travel after his retirement. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Palma-Nell Myers Doolittle, his parents, Alvin and Tennie Bratton Doolittle; one sister, Barbara Thompson and grandson, Lance Cpl. Matthew Barnes. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Blondell Barnes Doolittle; one son, Gary Doolittle Michelle; daughter Rhonda Whitington Larry and Pamela Doolittle Wall and Jennifer Doolittle Oglesbee Daniel; step-son, Ricky Barnes Connie; step-daughter Rita Dispenza George; 4 brothers, John Doolittle and wife Belle of Santa Fe New Mexico, Jimmy Doolittle and wife Kathy, Alva Doolittle and wife Mildred and Billie R. Johnson Sr. and wife Betty; grandchildren; Melissa Bacot Kyle, Zack Doolittle, Shannon Sumner, Lindsey Morvan Chad, Katie Martinez Michael, Jonathan Barnes Kristen, Kenda Barnes, Jeremy Dispenza , Joel Dispenza Jessica; 5 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Dispenza, Joel Dispenza, Jonathan Barnes, Zack Doolittle, Kyle Bacot and Daniel Turner. The family would like to give special thanks to Louisiana Hospice Care, Monica Wynn and Chris Johnson for their loving and tender care. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
