I was blessed to teach both Rachel and Drew in first grade. When I received the message that Rachel had passed away, I was heartbroken with a bitter sweet assurance that she was now in her Heavenly Home welcomed by her beloved Grandmother Helen Burns. Rachel walked into my classroom with her contagious smile and big beautiful yes and she made my day everyday. Her happiness and kindness to everyone endured her to all of us. She was always happy, kind to others, and extremely loving giving lots of hugs everyday. Rachel was first to the reading circle and ended up right next to me for story time. She won my heart with her first smile... Rachel was the daughter every mom and dad dream of having, the sister that took care of her brother and loved him dearly, and became the Virtuous Woman and a Pearl of Great Value to Jason, and a mother who adored and was dedicated to her precious daughter, Kate. Although she left us all too soon, her examples of love, faith, caring for others, motherhood and ideal friend to all that knew her will live on in each of us forever. She was blessed beyond measure with Godly Parents who raised a remarkable young lady, and I was blessed the same with the opportunity to be a small part of her life and she will forever be in my heart. My prayers are with her very special family that they will cherish the wonderful memories of their lives with Rachel and that God will remind them of these blessings each day with sweet memories from her example and her faith in Him. Cause all who are grieving here today to take stock of our own, individual lives and help us to be wise and to number our days. Help us to live our lives as unto the Lord, knowing that at any time You may choose to call us home as well. Thank You Father, that our times ARE in Your hands and there are no sudden deaths in Your economy. I never met Rachel, but I know Her Mom and Dad. I went to school with Helene, and she is one of the smartest, sweetest people I have ever known. I am sure she passed this on to her daughter. My heart is breaking for this beautiful family. Praying that God grants them strength and healing.

Rachel was amazing & flawless when she & Josh Harrel did the ‘fast ‘ jitterbug. They could have gone on the New Orleans circuit. What a smile!! We have many wonderful memories of times our families spent together at the Walker home. Rachel was all knees & elbows til she ‘grew up’.
