Funeral services for Philip R. Rutherford will be held on July 5th at First Presbyterian on Stubbs Avenue in Monroe. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM and the service will be at 11:00 AM. Mr. Rutherford was born in Raton, New Mexico on January 16, 1916 and passed away on July 2, 2007. Mr. Rutherford is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Minnie Rutherford, his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his son Dr. W. E. Rutherford and wife Ileta of Monroe, LA, daughter Margie Kimbrough and Chuck McLaughlin of Denver, CO, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren – Phillip Rutherford, wife Felicia, daughters Gabbi and Frankie of New York, Jason Rutherford, wife Jessica, daughters Melanie and Nina of Wilton, CT, Steve Kimbrough and wife Tabitha of Denver, CO, Monte Kimbrough, wife Reese, and daughter Olivia of Pt. Pleasant, NJ, Sandra Kimbrough, and son Wesley of Tennessee. Following funeral services Mr. Rutherford will be buried next to his wife Minnie in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Bill Apel who has been a great friend to Phil, Westley Apel, Tom Lee, Dr. Bill McConkey, David Carlson, and George Chain. A special thanks to Mildred Griffin who took great care of Phil for the last two years; Ruth Parker and Ora Lee Drungo who have been with him the last few months.
