Funeral services for Peggy Jane Monk, 73, of Bernice, La. will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2022, at Sharon Baptist Church in Dubach, LA., with Bro. Jeff Roberts officiating.   A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church cemetery in Dubach, LA., under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA.

Peggy was born on December 16, 1948 in Bernice, LA., and passed away on March 17, 2022 in Shreveport, LA. Peggy was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles Monk, and parents, Lester and Ouita Odom, and sister –in-law Pam Odom.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Edward Monk and wife Barbara of Spearsville, LA; daughter, Charla Boyett and husband Aaron of Bernice, LA; grandchildren, Hannah Johnson (Clint), Hayden Monk, Victoria Boyett, and Hunter Monk; siblings, Thomas (Diane) Odom, James (Anne) Odom, Donald Odom, and Virginia (Lee) Moon.

Pallbearers will be D.J. Odom, Wess Bowen, Sonny Moon, Zach Knight, Eric Turner, and Evan Hodge.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gregg Kirk and Cody Carrico.

The family would like to say thank you to the Northern Louisiana Medical Center and her nurse Katrina for their great care, Louisiana Delta Community College of Ruston PN students, Lashunda and Cassidy, and the Willis-Knighton nursing staff.
