Graveside services for Peggy Ann Barron Lewis, 94, of Calhoun, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Troup, Texas. Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Peggy was born January 25, 1930 near Aycock, Louisiana and passed away on July 16, 2024 in Calhoun. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years and she loved nurturing and caring for those around her. She had many hobbies; drinking green tea, shopping for collectors’ items, traveling, holistic health, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Peggy was known to bring a smile to everyone’s face, despite whatever obstacle she was facing herself. She was strong in her faith and followed the Lord each day. She was a wife and nurse but above all she was the most wonderful mother, Granny, and friend to all who knew her and will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Green Lewis, Sr.; beloved son, Jerry G. Lewis, Jr.; parents, Henry Duncan Barron, Sr. and Annie Melvie (Dean) Barron; brothers, Henry D. Barron, Jr. and Jack Barron; sisters, Emma Lee, Bertha Fulton, Frances Williams, Mary Shaw, and Sharon Gibbs.
Peggy is survived by her children, John Lewis of Bastrop, Alicia Waggoner and husband Wayne of West Monroe, Patricia Johnston and husband Steve of Calhoun; daughter-in-law, Mamie Lewis of Downsville; grandchildren, Lisa Manshack and husband Randy, Jerry G. Lewis III and wife Ashley, Stacie Turner and husband Jason, Cara and Kilee Lewis, Felicia Haley, Derrick Waggoner and wife Jessica, Kristina Rieger and husband John, Bridget Strange and husband Tres, and Brandon Waggoner and wife Cacy, Wade Hattaway; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Joy Evans and Bonnie Harris; sister-in-law, Beverly Barron; along with many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Lewis, Derrick Waggoner, Brandon Waggoner, Jadon Turner, John Rieger, and Tres Strange. Honorary pallbearer will be Wade Hattaway.
