Funeral services for Peaches McKnight, 76, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe. Pastor John W. Jones and Pastor Marcus Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Peaches McKnight passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 76. She was a woman of immense kindness, compassion, and generosity—someone whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. Peaches was a proud veteran’s wife, standing faithfully by her beloved husband, Dale McKnight, for 45 years. Her unwavering love and support reflected her deep devotion to both family and country. For 55 years, Peaches dedicated her life to the art of hairstyling, not just as a profession but as a way to uplift others. She went beyond styling hair, founding a ministry focused on re-imaging individuals after hair loss, particularly those battling cancer. Through this work, she restored confidence and dignity to so many, always offering her time and talents with a giving heart. Peaches talents were boundless—whether through her stunning soprano voice, her eye for elaborate event decorations, or her incredible cooking that could feed an army. She had a deep love for the outdoors and was often found tending flowerbeds at churches and friends’ homes, bringing beauty wherever she went. She also had a wonderful sense of humor—her quick wit and playful spirit could make anyone laugh. Peaches was truly one of a kind, lighting up every room she entered and leaving an unforgettable mark on everyone she met. A devoted member of the Bayou Masterworks Chorale and the Masterworks Gardening Club, Peaches was deeply rooted in her faith. Her love for the Lord was unwavering, leading her to become an ordained minister. Peaches lived her faith through her actions, always showing love, grace, and kindness to everyone she met. Peaches is preceded in death by her son, Johnny Baugh Jr.; father, Melvin Horn; mother, Louise Horn; and sisters, Jeanie Thorn and Barbara Blazier.
Peaches is survived by her loving husband, Dale McKnight; daughter, Cindy Perkins and fiancé Todd Worley; son, Chad Baugh and wife Rachel; daughter, Nancy Baker and husband Chris; ten grandchildren; eleven plus one on the way, great-grandchildren; sisters, Maureen Horn and Laureen Horn; multiple nieces and nephews; as well as other cherished family and friends.
Above all, Peaches was an amazing wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love, wisdom, and unforgettable memories. To know her was to be touched by her generosity, warmth, and humor. The mere mention of her name would bring smiles and stories of how wonderful and talented she was. It was a true honor to call her a friend.
Peaches legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and service will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Hatten, Anthony Herrera, Brett Norris, Jeremy Perkins, Blake Mayo and John David Tatum.
