I was saddened to hear this. When my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer about 22 years ago, one of our first stops was to see Peaches to get a couple of wigs. I will never forget that!! My deepest sympathies!

One evening while the contingent of Japanese students from Ehime University located in Matsuyama were in Monroe for an exchange visit at ULM, Peaches invited them to visit her 'wig shop' after she had closed her beauty shop for the day. When the normally very dignified students had arrived at her shop, they found that she had laid out a selection of wigs for them to try on including the Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, and Reba McIntire styles. Laughing with joy these students sent approximately 60 photos of themselves wearing these wigs back to Japan, and these happy 'college kids' were left with amazing impressions of a wonderful American lady who went by the name of Peaches.
