I grew up with Paula. She lived across the hwy from the road my house was on.We had a lot of fun doing what little girls do (playing house, barbies, babies, dress up, building forts in the woods, skateboarding, basketball - we even conducted a few funerals for dead bugs). We also found lots of objects in my daddy's shop building that we used to "build" all sorts of things. And, we got into a little mischief along the way. One time we decided to sneek a few of Mr. Blann's cigarettes to try them out ... about the time we got them lit up we heard Judy coming ... we hurriedly snuffed them out & threw them in the trash. Judy opened the door & all of a sudden flames shot up from the trash can! Busted! Thankfully, Judy extinguished the flames ... then proceeded to chew us out! After much begging & pleading on our part Judy agreed to keep our secret. We always showed up at one another's house on the days our mothers went grocery shopping. We were more than happy to "help" stock the pantries.Whenever one of us would want to play with the other we would summon the other with special calls by standing in the ditch beside the hwy. I would yell "Polly Olly Ocheeeeeeeee Paaaaaau-laaaaaa" and she would yell "Joanie Bony Fooooooo-neeeeee Jooooaaan-nnnnie".We always attended one another's Vacation Bible School every year too.I had lost touch with her over the years but was so thankful to re-connect through facebook. I will always love my special friend, Paula. She was beautiful inside and out.RIP
