Funeral services for Patrick Henry Anderson Sr. “Pat” will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 at First West Worship Center in West Monroe. Pastor Michael Wood and Dr. Mark Fenn will officiate. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home- West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon, until service time Thursday at the church. Services are under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of West Monroe.
Pat was born March 17, 1938, in New Orleans, La and passed away September 5, 2022, in West Monroe, La. Pat was a member of First West in West Monroe and an associate member of First United Methodist Church in West Monroe. He also served proudly in the Louisiana Army National Guard. He graduated Neville High School in 1956 and was a member of their 1955 State Football championship team. After graduation, he went on to USL, where he played football. After college, he became a charter member of Twin City Panthers semi-pro football team. Pat enjoyed writing and was the proud published author of “Pappy’s Proverbs”. Pat was an avid outdoorsman and some of his greatest times were hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. He was the founding member and past president serving over 25 years for the Ruple-Brown Scholarship program at Neville High.
Pat was preceded in death by his 2 wives, John Ann Painich Anderson and Martha Jane Burns Upshaw Anderson; and son, Patrick Anderson Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Jackie Guillot and her husband, Ricky; son, Baron Anderson and his wife Kim; six grandchildren, Patrick Anderson III, Rick Guillot Jr. and his wife, Heather, Jordan Guillot and his wife, Jamie, Ryan Anderson, Keelie Anderson Lewis and her husband, Derek and Kenzie Anderson Stark and her husband Tanner; and 5 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick Guillot, Jordan Guillot, Mark Kent Anderson, Mickey McCarty, Stanley Dupuy, Jason Lewis, Sam Butler, Charles VanZile, Willie Painich Jr., and Walter Hawsey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be teammates of the 1955 Neville High School Football State Championship Team and Dr. Mike Cage, Randy Ewing, John Buske, Neill Kirkland, Mark Anderson, James Davison, Tom Dupuy and Mike Lohan.
Pat’s request for any memorial donations to be made to the Ruple-Brown Scholarship Fund at Neville High School, 600 Forsythe Avenue, Monroe, LA 71201.
