Patricia Grammer Bailey, born November 23, 1937, in Lyon, MS, peacefully passed away on January 23, 2025, in her home where she created a loving family with her four children. She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Dene Grammer, and mother, Lodess Pauline Grammer.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Robin Bailey Hamaker, Patricia (Tish) Bailey Miller, Cynthia Bailey Ryan, and Myron Blair Bailey (Mike) III, along with his spouse Lauren Graham Bailey, all of Monroe, LA.
Her cherished grandchildren include Miles Hamaker, Graham Hamaker, Bailey Miller Connelly (Reed), Emery Miller Brewster (Alex), Thad Ryan IV (Jessica), Nathan Ryan (Maggie), Lily Muller (Zach), Mason Ryan, Beau Bailey, and Katie Bailey. Patricia was also blessed with great-grandchildren Katherine Ryan, Westbrook Muller, Walker Muller, and Millie Connelly, all of whom lovingly called her “Nonie.”
Ms. Bailey loved fully in all that she did. She had a deep love for the Lord, her church, her numerous friends, and, most of all, her family. She graduated from Central High School in Jackson, MS then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education at Mississippi College. Pat enjoyed her Ladies of St. Paul’s Thursday morning Bible Study group for 20 years and her Book Club for 6 years. She selflessly served through Meals on Wheels at St. Paul’s and was also an active member of the Junior League of Monroe. Ms. Bailey worked at AmSouth Bank for 20 years before retiring to care for her mother and help with her many grandchildren. She treasured her youthful summers at Ridgecrest Camp in North Carolina, where she was a Choctaw princess, and long summers spent at Lake D’Arbonne.
Nonie had a passion for tennis, whether playing or cheering on her grandchildren, and she never missed an opportunity to support them in their sporting events. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and staying active in her community. One of her greatest joys was gathering family together for board games, laughter, and meaningful conversations.
Patricia was kind, caring, and funny. Her family was truly blessed to call her “Mom.” Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in the cherished memories we hold close. Nonie taught us the true meaning of familial love and laughter, and her memory will continue to inspire us every day.
Services are under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home and will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, 1901 Lexington Ave, Monroe. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the service immediately following.
Honorary pallbearers are Miles Hamaker, Graham Hamaker, Thad Ryan IV, Nathan Ryan, Beau Bailey, Zach Muller, Reed Connelly, and Alex Brewster. A special thank you to Dr. Walter Sartor and Dr. Dean Stockstill for their care. A very heartfelt thank you to our Fay Caster, who loved and cared for Nonie, and she is very much part of our family.
