Patricia Chapman Love was born July 24, 1938, in Archibald, LA.  Patricia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Pat attended LA Tech and earned a bachelor’s degree in Education in only three years. At Tech, she was active in the Wesley Foundation, where she was introduced to her future husband, Jimmy. They were married in January 1960.

She was a life-long Methodist, as a member of Little Creek Methodist, and later at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston.

Pat possessed the heart of an entrepreneur, starting The Dollhouse Shoppe, featuring custom-built specialty dollhouses, Madam Alexander dolls, and collectibles. Later she began selling real estate. After five years, she opened what became a very successful business, Chautauqua Realty in Ruston. Over the years, Pat designed and built six houses of her own and helped several other relatives and friends with their homes as well.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Wilson Chapman; her mother, Montiel Prewitt Chapman; brothers, Don and Travis Chapman. She is survived by husband, Jimmy Love; son, Jim (wife Karen) Love; daughter, Beth (husband Sione) Tu’uta; son, Daniel Love; daughter, Anne (husband David) Oeswein; sister, Judith Chapman; 8 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons in-law.

The family would like to thank Angela Price, Elaine Williams, the caring staff of Always Best Care and Premiere Hospice for their help and care during these final days.

A service of remembrance will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Funeral Homes of Ruston.  Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Memorial Gardens.
