I was saddened to hear about the passing of Patrice, but I know that she will live in the hearts of all whose lives that she has touched. I grew up in Ruston and was a member of First Baptist church where I originally met her and her family. She always had a smile, was energetic, and loved church. After I married and moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., it was always nice when I came home and would see her at church or run into her somewhere in Ruston and would see that she was still the same girl I knew with a joyful spirit. It was nice knowing that she was one of my cousins best friends growing up and also served as a teacher under her leadership at Hillcrest Elementary school. There are no words that I can say to take any of the sadness or pain away, but I know that GOD will provide for all of us to heal and to treasure our relationship with her. What makes it so difficult sometimes is that it is hard to lose someone that you love and someone that had so much more to give. At least from my perspective, I can say that she lived her life with GOD in her heart. That is what we all should do. She was an example for sure. May you have strength and courage to walk through this valley of life knowing that GOD has blessed you with her presence in your life whether you knew her as a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend or just as an acquaintance. May you have faith and trust that GOD will heal you in your sorrow but will give you joy in the wonderful memories of your relationship with Patrice. I certainly will. My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire family. Sending my love and prayers for all. Marilyn John Sheaffer

I'm sorry to hear of Mrs Hay's passing. She was one of my fave elementary teachers 40+ years ago. I can vividly remember her catching laryngitis and only being able to wisper for two days. Me and all our classmates stayed so tickled. She expected our best but made school fun.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
