Funeral services for P.E. 'Duck' Brantley, 71, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Pastor Donald Reeves will be officiating. Interment will follow at Dean Baptist Church Cemetery, Marion, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. 'Duck' was born January 18, 1941 in Marion, LA and passed away July 14, 2012. His life was taking care of his family and friends. Mr. Brantley was a Pipeline Superintendant for Price Gregory International. 'Duck' was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Dean Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prentice and Erma Brantley; and sisters, Sara Tucker and Tennie Brantley; and a brother, D.J. Brantley. Mr. Brantley is survived by his wife, Linda Hawthorne Brantley of 52 years; daughter, Kristy Brantley Stewart and husband Rufus; sister, Betty Sue Rhodes and husband Houston; brother, Tom “Monroe” Brantley and wife Rita; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Mike Brantley, Kenny Tucker, Randy Tucker, Montey Rhodes, Darren Berry, and Virgil Brantley. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Hamilton, Todd Burleson, David Hall, Jason Hawthorne, Dewey Rhodes, Rufus Stewart, Kenneth Turner, John DePhillips, Tom “Monroe” Brantley Brother, Greg Cheek, Randy Mathis, Darren Berry, Kenny Tucker, and Buster Buxton. Visitation will be held Monday, July 16, 2012, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church of West Monroe.
