Funeral services for Otis H. Watkins, 95, a long-time resident of West Monroe are on Wednesday, March 4th, 2015, at 10:00AM in the Chapel of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Waymon Warren officiating with interment to follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lee Frazier Watkins and by his parents, Otis W. and Sallie Francis Ashlin Watkins.Mr. Watkins was born February 7th, 1920 in Dardanelle, AR, and passed away March 2nd, 2015 in West Monroe. A retired auto parts manager and a member of the Fair Park Baptist Church, he was a highly decorated US Army veteran of WWII receiving the following honors for his service in the Pacific:\tDistinguished Service Cross\tBronze Star Medal\tPurple Heart and large Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster\tGood Conduct Medal\tAmerican Campaign Medal\tAsiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and Bronze Star (Triple)\tWW II Victory Medal\tCombat Infantryman Badge 1st Award\tPhilippine Liberation Ribbon and Bronze Star\tHonorable Service Lapel Button WW IISurvivors include his daughters, Carolyn Watkins Fleming and husband, Wayne, Janet Watkins Dunn and husband, Mike, and his son, Carl Watkins and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Lisa Fleming Bannister and husband, Dolphus, Jon Michael Bryan, Jason Bryan, Emily Watkins, and Elise Watkins; great grandchildren S. Morgan Kilpatrick, AnnaClaire Lee Bannister, and Carlie and Natalie Bryan; three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers are Carl Watkins, Wayne Fleming, Mike Dunn, Dolphus Bannister, Jon Michael Bryan and Jason Bryan.Visitation is Wednesday morning from 9:00AM until service time 10:00AM.The family is grateful to Janice Alexander, Kelly Bonner, Dr. Russell Lolley and staff, Professional Home Health, and Louisiana Hospice Service for their loving care of our father.
